Job Description


The internship starts on September 4th 2023, and is for a period of 5-6 months.

To start with, the position of Global Tax Pillar 2 Intern sits comfortably in the Global Tax Team. An incredible diverse team that helps each other learn, grow and develop. Just how we like it! And as a Global Tax Pillar 2 Intern you will be asked to actively monitor the legislative and regulatory developments led by the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on BEPS. You will also contribute to the impact assessment for JDE Peet’s and the adaptation of JDE Peet’s internal processes and systems. For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:

  • Contribute to the creation and execution of the Global Tax Team’s Pillar 2 Roadmap.
  • Assist in the implementation and administration of newly enacted Pillar 2 tax rules into the JDE Peet’s accounting system with a clear audit trail (i.e., interpretation and translation of legal provisions into real calculations and deliverables).
  • Play a significant role in building the country-by-country modelling to analyze the local impact of Pillar 2 (both backward and forward looking).
  • Together with the Global Tax Managers, identify drivers and mitigating actions where a Pillar 2 top-up tax is identified.
  • Contribute to the development of a management report to timely inform JDE Peet’s stakeholders.

Qualifications

We do, of course, take into consideration your knowledge of automated solutions (ex. Excel and BI tools), but ultimately we look at the bigger picture. But to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role, we’ll share our “nice to have” list with you:

  • WO/University student in either Tax Law, Fiscal Economics or Accounting & Control (or similar studies)
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thinking (driving simplicity).
  • Exceptional interpersonal qualities, be pro-active and highly motivated.
  • Team player with strong verbal communicational skills in English.

Important: To be considered as a candidate for this internship,

  • EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship and this needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum.
  • Non-EU/EEA students: you need to be enrolled at a Dutch University and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (eg, receive ECTS in turn).

Internship Allowance

  • Based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek, the monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, additionally, you will get paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
  • Monthly Commuting allowance:
  • In principle, you will be using your student public transportation card (student OV-chipcard /studentenreisproduct) for daily commuting.
  • If you are not eligible for the student OV-chipcard, JDE offers a commuting allowance. Compensation for commuting expenses, starting from a minimum distance of 5 kilometers one way, up to a maximum of:
  • 35 kilometers à € 19ct per km (according to the temporary arrangement) when travelling by own transportation;
  • 45 kilometers (max. € 294.50 based on public transport fees) per month for travel by public transportation.
  • Should you relocate to the city of your based office (Amsterdam or Utrecht), you will receive a monthly relocation compensation of up to a maximum of € 175. In this case, the commuting allowance will be not applicable. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
